Here is information on a Safe Sitter class from the Cass County Health Department.

Vision is important to your child’s ability to learn and progress at school. Indiana state law requires schools to screen students in grades first, third, fifth, and eighth. Vision screening will take place on August 20 at PHS and PES. Vision screening is a very simple procedure and will take only a few minutes. If you do not want your child to participate in a vision screening, please contact the school nurse. No report will be sent home if your child passes the vision screening. If the screening results indicate your child may have a vision problem, the results will be shared with you. If you have any questions about the vision screening process or wish to talk with school personnel, please contact

A reminder from Nurse Gloria:
Parents and Guardians - please review the new revisions to the medicine/health sections of the school policies for Pioneer High School and the Pioneer Elementary School. One of the updates includes, ALL over-the-counter medications and ALL prescription medications must be brought to school by a parent/guardian. Students are NOT ALLOWED to bring medication to or from school. This includes Tylenol, Ibuprofen, cough drops, eye drops, any other OTC medication, and all prescription medication. Medication brought to school by students will not be administered. These changes reflect continued safety for all students. Please reach out to your school nurse for any questions.

Parents,
Breakfast runs from 7:30-8:00am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please help us reinforce these breakfast hours by reminding your children if they eat breakfast, they need to check in with their teacher and then immediately go to breakfast. This ensures that our students are fed and have ample time to eat and return to class for instruction. Breakfast is delivered to classes on Wednesday mornings. We appreciate your help and support with our breakfast program.
