Mr. Quillen's Keys to Elearning
This year there will be two types of eLearning; synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous learning will involve students logging in at specific times and having live interactions with their teacher(s) via platforms such as Google Meet. This will occur on days that we cancel school because of weather or other emergencies. If our school does not have at least 50% participation on our synchronous days, then we will be forced to make up that day later in the school year. Asynchronous learning days are prescheduled (September 15, October 13, and February 16). During these days students will access lessons and materials via Canvas, as well as things sent home ahead of time by their teacher(s). Teachers can be reached through email and/or phone based on what procedures they have established and communicated with you ahead of time.
Pioneer Elementary expects all students to access, participate, and complete all assignments, activities and lessons during these days. Attendance will be taken on both synchronous and asynchronous days, and is based on participation and work completion. Any missed assignments will be expected to be made up in the time allotted per the teacher’s classroom management plan.
