1:1 That Supports Our Mission
Pioneer Regional School Corporation was brought about by the Reorganization Act of Indiana of 1959. It consists of five townships, four in Cass County and one in White County. The corporation has in it 153 square miles and includes the communities of Lucerne, Headlee, Lake Cicott, and Royal Center.
Our mission is to provide an appropriate educational program and learning environment which will effectively meet the educational needs of its students and citizens and help its students accomplish educational goals which are significant, durable, and transferable.
To remain true to our mission, our Board Members, Administrators, Teachers and Support Staff have committed to remain current with the evolution of education. Technology integration is effectively being implemented at Pioneer Regional School Corporation. Using technology in the classroom to customize learning for every student is one of our many goals. To help us accomplish this goal Pioneer Jr / Sr High School has initiated 1:1 (one-to-one) Google Chromebook program.
Our 1:1 Chromebook program has placed a Chromebook into the hands of every student in grades 7-12. This device is being used by students and teachers to enhance the already established curriculum. Students are completing tasks like researching topics, writing compositions, utilizing advanced math tools, reading books and completing assessments. We are providing our students an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of using a device for productivity and at the same time teaching them internet responsibility. In addition, they are building character through following the rules of our acceptable use policy. The policy includes basic rules set by the school and their classroom teacher.
The PHS Faculty and Staff are committed to the success of each and every student. Technology is just one of the many tools used to accomplish this.
