Pioneer Elementary School will hold its 2017-18 Kindergarten Round Up
on Wednesday, April 5th. 
All Kindergarten parents are asked to call the school (643-2255) to pre-register
their child as soon as possible.
Parents may enroll their child if the child is five years old on or before
August 1st. 

The morning session will begin at 8:30 a.m. for any child whose last name begins with the letters A-M.
The afternoon session will begin at 12:30 p.m. for any child whose last name begins with the letters

Parents are asked to bring a LEGAL birth certificate, social security card, and immunization records of
their child to the elementary.

Parents should know their road coordinates for transportation arrangements. If your child will be taken to
sitter after school, know the sitter's road coordinates. 

Children who were old enough to attend Kindergarten for the 2016-17 school year, but did not, are also
to attend Round Up. If anyone is aware of families who have children who are ready for
Kindergarten, they are 
asked to pass on this information.   

Pioneer Elementary Preschool Information

Pioneer Elementary and Area 5 Head Start invite parents of preschool students who will be four years old before August 1, 2017
to attend an information/application meeting in the Pioneer Elementary Gym Wednesday, April 12th at 6:00 p.m.

Families should  bring the following documents:
  • Original birth certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Immunization records
  • Proof of income for the past 12 months (include but are not limited to the following examples: tax papers, last pay stub, child support receipt, SSI award letter, TANF, Unemployment compensation  documentation, signed note from employer if paid by cash). If they don’t have any income, we have a form they complete for that, too.
  • If they are transient and/or homeless for the moment, we have a form for that
  • Copy of IEP and/or related paperwork
  • Custody papers/DCS paperwork
Taking an application does not mean the child is enrolled.  Parents are notified through mail whether the child has/has not been accepted.  Eligible (approved) children are not enrolled until they receive a letter stating they are enrolled. If all slots are filled, eligible children will be placed on a waitlist until a vacancy opens.
We encourage parents to bring all of the documents to the application meetings. It’s the best way to get processed quicker.

Carnival Is Coming
The school carnival and fish/chicken fry is Friday, April 21st.  The dinner will be from 4:00- 7:30
and the carnival will be from 5 until 8.  Please mark your calendars.  We will need lots of volunteers
to work in the kitchen and at the carnival.  We will be sending home the volunteer sign-up sheet,
donation form and fish/chicken fry order form on March 24th.

We are using the "Harmony" student information system at Pioneer Elementary.  It is web-based, so parents now have on-line  access to lunch information, discipline information, grades, e-mail & text notifications and more.
